Erin Andrews Accidentally Says Justin Bieber Instead of Justin Verlander After Red Sox Win

Freudian slip? Erin Andrews was about to launch into a post-game interview with Boston Red Sox's Mike Napoli after the team's game against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday, Oct. 16, when she made a slight slip-up that caused a minor uproar among sports fans.

As Napoli jogged up to her following his homer off the Tigers' Justin Verlander, Andrews tried to open up the interview by asking about his last home run against Verlander. But instead of saying the pitcher's name, she fumbled her words and began to say what sounded like "Justin Bieber."

Napoli good-humoredly rolled his eyes and grinned, continuing with the interview without drawing more attention to the incident.

Fans immediately took to Twitter to mock the 35-year-old sports reporter, claiming that Andrews had "Bieber on her mind."

The sportscaster didn't take kindly to the criticism, however, taking to her own Twitter account to defend her mistake.

"My lord…people are unreal," she tweeted. "If you really think I have Bieber on my mind, then u are soooooo right #sarcasm."

Verlander previously made headlines in pop culture after he was linked to Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Upton. The pair have since split, and Upton, 21, has most recently been spotted around town with former Dancing With the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
