LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Newlyweds Greg Louganis and Johnny Chaillot’s relationship started with a wink!
The happy couple, who wed last weekend in Malibu, stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Wednesday, where they dished on their nuptials and engagement.
“I winked at him because he’s so cute,” Greg, 53, said of Johnny, 52, explaining that they met though an online dating service.

The Olympian recalled the first time he laid eyes on Johnny, a paralegal, in the flesh.
“I saw this handsome man with glasses and a bowtie standing on a bridge and I’m thinking, ‘Oh my God, I hope that’s him’ and it was,” Greg told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover.
Following their first date, they began seeing each other and were soon headed to something even more serious.

“It was April the eighth and it was at his home in Malibu,” Johnny said of Greg popping the question. “He sat me down on the couch and told me he wanted to make it official. It was about our one-year mark and I said yes.”
With the recent advances in marriage equality, the couple was able to legally wed, something they said has made their relationship even stronger.
“Once we took those vows – and to be legally married in the state of California – it really, really made a difference, the depth was even that much more,” Greg explained. “Hearing those words… It just pulled everything together.”

And as they have grown closer and gotten to know each other so well, Greg said he’s learned to love himself – including his own flaws and shortcomings – even more.
“The more I fall in love with him, the more I fall in love with myself,” the Olympic gold medal winner added.
