LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- HBO has set the return date for the third season of “Girls.”
The series, from creator Lena Dunham, will premiere on Sunday, January 12 at 10 PM.
On Wednesday, HBO also confirmed that “True Detective,” which stars Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as Louisiana detectives, debuts the same night, at 9 PM ET/PT.

The series follows the two detectives during a 17-year hunt for a killer.
Michelle Monaghan plays Harrelson’s wife on the show.

Additionally, HBO’s new comedy series, “Looking,” following the San Francisco-based lives of three friends exploring “the fun and sometimes overwhelming options available to a new generation of gay men,” per the network, premieres after “Girls” at 10:30 PM.
