LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Christina Milian with Mark BallasCaption Christina Milian with Mark Ballas“Dancing with the Stars” shocked both viewers and contestants with the elimination of Christina Milian and Mark Ballas on Monday night.

Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson caught up with Christina after getting the ballroom boot.

“It’s difficult to walk away… after having such a great performance tonight and feeling like you’re achieving that growth and especially [since] I had a 10,” the singer/actress explained of being eliminated shortly after receiving a perfect score from judge Len Goodman – the first 10 of the season for any competitor.

“I’m gonna miss that part where every week you’re kind of just learning the challenge and learning about yourself a little bit more. But overall, I’m so happy to have had this experience and I wouldn’t want to leave this show on any other note than this way,” she continued.

Christina opened Monday’s show dancing to a song from “The Voice’s” CeeLo Green — “Forget You” — to reflect her most memorable year — 2010, the year she had her daughter, Violet, and the year she and her then-husband, The-Dream, split, following what she claimed was his infidelity. The 32-year-old told Shaun that she’s glad she let the audience into a more private side of her life.

“I’m really proud of myself for being vulnerable and being relatable. There’s so many people and so many other women who have gone through what I did myself, and I think it was handled tastefully,” she said. “I was really nervous about it. Even the beginning of the week I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, what’s he gonna think? What are they gonna think? What’s my daughter gonna think someday?’ But it was beautiful actually.”

And her time on “DWTS” might be over, but Christina said she’ll still be strutting it.

“I want to keep ballroom dancing, I want to foxtrot, I want to Charleston. I want to do all of that stuff…So even if I have to like go rent out a room at the same place where they have their rehearsals and me and Mark will just fake our own rehearsal and act like we’re still in the show. We might just have to do that,” she said with a smile.
