Lifetime is bulking up the staff for Marc Cherry's Devious Maids.
The second season of the drama from the Desperate Housewives producer will now include co-executive producers Carol Leifer, Curtis Khleel (Charmed, The Lying Game) and Elle Triedman (Revenge, The Protector). Matthew Berry (Desperate Housewives) has also boarded the series as a consulting producer.
The trio joins current EPs Cheery, Sabrina Wind, Eva Longoria, Larry Shuman, David Lonner, John Mass and Televisa USA's Paul Presburger and Michael Garcia.
STORY: Lifetime Renews 'Devious Maids' for Second Season
Devious Maids was renewed in August for a second season. The freshman season finale hit a series high across all the key demos, with 3 million total viewers (up 50 percent compared with its premiere), 1.4 million adults 18-49 (up 69 percent), 1.3 million among adults 25-54 and 1.2 million among women 18-49 (up 90 percent). The series ranks as Lifetime's fastest-growing drama ever and propelled the female-skewing cable network to top all of cable in the Sunday at 10 p.m. slot among women. Its 19 percent Hispanic composition also nearly doubles Lifetime's primetime average.
Leifer is a four-time Emmy nominee for her writing work on Seinfeld, Saturday Night Live, The Larry Sanders Show and The Academy Awards. She's starred in three of her own HBO comedy specials and in 2009 released her first book, the New York Times best-seller When You Lie About Your Age, the Terrorists Win. She's repped by APA and Del Shaw.
The ABC Studios-produced soap will return to Lifetime next year.
