Meanwhile, this season of Shark Tank will see the sharks offer the budding entrepreneurs a total of over $20 million -- a series record. This season, the sharks include Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Kevin O'Leary, Daymond John, Barbara Corcoran and Mark Cuban. (The New York Giants chairman and executive vp Steve Tisch and Paul Mitchell mogul John Paul DeJoria also serve as guest sharks in season five.)
The additional-episodes pickup comes on the heels of CNBC's acquisition of off-network cable rights to the series, which consistently wins its time period in the 18-49 and 25-54 demos. Shark Tank, produced by Sony Pictures Television, airs at 9 p.m. Fridays on ABC.
This week's episode features singer Brian McKnight performing for the sharks when he joins an entrepreneurial DJ from San Diego pitching a syndicated radio show specializing in love song dedications.
