Sofia Richie posted her first-ever tweet on Monday after creating a Twitter account in December 2012. HollywoodLife promptly welcomed the model to Twitter, but the webloid failed to mention that it has already published many false stories about her based on quotes from a fake account.
“Just a bit late to the twitter game,” Richie tweeted on Monday, along with a smiley face sticking its tongue out. The site noted this and then added, Richie “may very well be the only teenager in the world who was never on Twitter.” But interestingly enough, it’s only now that the webloid acknowledges that the model was “never on Twitter.” Back in August, when Richie was dating Justin Bieber, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming Richie tweeted “I Love You” to Bieber. Of course, the model wasn’t using the social media platform at the time and never sent such a message.
Shortly before that, Gossip Cop corrected HollywoodLife for wrongly reporting that Richie tweeted about Bieber’s Instagram fight with Selena Gomez. As Gossip Cop reported, Gomez had commented on her ex-boyfriend’s Instagram account when the singer blasted his followers for writing mean comments about Richie. Gomez said, “If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol -it should be special between you two only.”
Richie never weighed in on the situation, but that didn’t stop the webloid from citing a fake account that wrote, “stop the damn hate,” and wrongly attributing the quote to the model. But now, in welcoming Richie to Twitter, the repeatedly discredited website has either forgotten or ignored all of its previous false stories about the model’s nonexistent tweets.
