Grace VanderWaal performed in the 2016 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop has reported, VanderWaal became a sensation after her audition on “America’s Got Talent” earlier this year. Only 12 at the time, she stunned the judges by performing an original song. Howie Mandel made the aspiring star his Golden Buzzer pick, and Simon Cowell even compared her to Taylor Swift.
A frontrunner all season long, VanderWaal won “AGT” this past September. She subsequently signed a record deal with Columbia Records. Now the singer’s debut EP, called Perfectly Imperfect, will be released on December 2. The five-track compilation consists of all original material, including her “America’s Got Talent” breakout song, “I Don’t Know My Name.”
VanderWaal’s victory led to appearances on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” But the annual Thanksgiving parade marks her biggest performance yet with around 50 million viewers expected to tune in to NBC’s live broadcast. On Wednesday, the songstress enthusiastically tweeted, “Getting ready for the 90th annual #MacysThanksgivingDayParade I AM SO EXCITED!!”
In addition to VanderWaal, other famous participants in this year’s festivities include Kelsea Ballerini, Tony Bennett, De La Soul, Sarah McLachlan, and Brett Eldredge. Among those also taking part are Fitz & the Tantrums, who appeared on an “AGT” results show back in August. Gossip Cop has the full video of VanderWaal’s Thanksgiving performance below!
