Back to the Dragonfly Inn! With Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life right around the corner (just a few more days!), Us Weekly caught up with TV’s favorite concierge, Yanic Truesdale. The actor — who played Michel on the beloved series from 2000 to 2007 — gave a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s really like to work with costars including Lauren Graham and Melissa McCarthy.
Which star drank as much coffee as Lorelai and Rory? Who would fit in best with the Stars Hollow crowd in real life? See what Truesdale, 46, had to say in his 10-question speed round below:

US WEEKLY: Who forgot their lines the most?
YANIC TRUESDALE: My lines were always with Lauren and Melissa. That’s pretty much my three scene partners. Lauren is a master at learning her lines last-minute. It’s uncanny and unheard of. Melissa and I — I would say both — could suddenly blank. So I would split it in half. I would say both of us.
Warner Bros./Getty ImagesUS: Who was around the craft services table the most?
YT: Probably me. I’m always nibbling on something!
US: Who was the least like their character?
YT: Emily [Gilmore] I would say. Emily was very cold, and Kelly [Bishop] is very warm. Emily would be my pick.
US: Who was the most like their character?
YT: Lauren is in many ways like Lorelai. Rory [Alexis Bledel] too. I would say Lauren and Alexis are the closest to their characters.

US: Who could you see actually living in a place like Stars Hollow?
YT: That’s a good question. Sookie [McCarthy] and I would say Babette [Sally Struthers].
Suzanne Hanover/NetflixUS: Which character is a misfit in Stars Hollow?
YT: I’m amazed that Michel has survived all these years, to be quite honest! He would be my No. 1 pick because he’s the one that fits the least in a small town, and yet here he is year after year. Lorelai in some ways because I can see Lorelai living in a big town. She loves fashion.
US: Who breaks on set the most?
YT: Melissa! Me, I’m terrible. If I start laughing I can’t stop and I really have to cut it early on because it spirals and I just can’t go back.

10 Big TV Stars Without an Emmy Nomination Huge TV Shows That Were Quickly Canceled and Forgotten Love on SetUS: What scene was the hardest to get through with Melissa?
YT: There are many. Because on Gilmore Girls we have really long days — I think there was a day where we shot 23 hours or something like that — so by the 18th hour you are all kind of giggly and not there anymore.
US: Who was the biggest prankster on set?
YT: We didn’t have that! I can’t remember anyone doing a prank.
US: Was there an actor obsessed with coffee just like Lorelai and Rory?
YT: Lauren! I think she’s calmed down, but she — I remember her drinking a lot of coffees naturally. … She also had long, long days, so she needed that energy to be on all day.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life debuts on Netflix on Friday, November 25.
