Brad Pitt NOT Using Angelina Jolie’s Old Psych Records To Win Custody Of Kids, Despite Report

Angelina Jolie Psych Records Brad Pitt Custody

(In Touch)

Brad Pitt is NOT using Angelina Jolie’s 16-year-old psychiatric records to win custody of their six kids, despite an inaccurate tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s not true.

The actress’s past struggles with drugs and alcohol have been well documented, and she’s been very open about her road to recovery. In 2000, Jolie was placed on a three-day psychiatric hold, and in a 2001 interview with Rolling Stone, the actress admitted to having felt suicidal in the past. These issues are well behind Jolie, but that hasn’t stopped In Touch from publishing a false report claiming Pitt is using these “secrets” in their custody battle. Of course, there’s nothing secretive about any of this information.

But the publication isn’t content with simply twisting the details regarding Jolie’s mental health history. It goes on to recycle the same false narrative about the actress supposedly divorcing Pitt over Marion Cotillard. The outlet’s questionable “source” alleges Jolie “had many breakdowns over her suspicions” that her then-husband had an affair with his Allied co-star, and was supposedly even convinced the actress “was pregnant with Brad’s baby.” Of course, Gossip Cop has repeatedly debunked all of these bogus claims.

The magazine’s seemingly phony insider further purports that Jolie’s old psych records “will provide the foundation and a road map for the judge to rely on. It’s just one part of Brad’s strategy, but it’s a key component.” But this simply isn’t the case. Gossip Cop checked in with a reliable source close to the situation, who tells us that mental health evaluations of both parents are completely standard practice in any custody battle. Jolie’s 16-year-old psych records are virtually unrelated to the current situation with custody. And, it should be noted, Pitt has never said Jolie is a bad mother.
