The 'Chicago P.D.' grad will play the new executive officer to Garret Dillahunt's character in the post-Civil War drama pilot.

Brian Geraghty has booked his next small screen role.

The Chicago P.D. grad has joined Rod Lurie's post-Civil War drama pilot Monsters of God as a series regular, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Monsters of God, written by Lurie (The Contender), centers on Colonel "Terrible" Bill Lancaster's battle against the Comanche in post-Civil War Texas. Despite the peaceful co-existence between the Comanche and local residents of Slater, Lancaster begins a quest to kill every single member of the tribe and chaos ensues. Meanwhile, his wife, Cynthia, is equally determined to institute her wildly feminist ideals, even if it means challenging the United States Army and striking her own allegiance with the Comanche women.

Geraghty will play Major Ellroy McQueen, the handsome, well-groomed and thoughtful new executive officer to Colonel Lancaster – an appointment that doesn't sit well with the Colonel. Always careful to only say as much as he needs to, McQueen is well aware of Lancaster's ruthless tendencies, and must determine the best way to approach this new position.

Garret Dillahunt is set to star as Lancaster. The cast also includes Caitlin Gerard and Pat Healy.

Lurie, who studied the Comanche Wars while serving as an artillery officer in the U.S. Army, wrote the pilot and will also direct. He will exec produce, along with Marc Frydman, his producing partner at Battle Plan Productions, and DeDe Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Sarah Esberg of Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment. TNT ordered the pilot in July.

For Geraghty, the role comes after a two-season stint on Chicago P.D. His other TV roles include Ray Donovan and Boardwalk Empire, and his film credits include Flight, The Hurt Locker and Jarhead. He is repped by UTA, Management 360 and Loeb & Loeb.
