Let’s start from the beginning: their red carpet debut in December 2006. Although they'd already been together since 2004 and had welcomed daughter Shiloh that May, Jolie, now 41, and Pitt, now 52, marked their first-ever red carpet appearance at the premiere of The Good Shepherd in New York City. Jolie, who shares Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8, with her ex, glowed in a sparkly wrap dress.

By the time the 2012 Oscars rolled around, the duo were old pros at these kinds of things. Jolie set social media atwitter by poking her long, lean leg out of her strapless black Atelier Versace gown. All Pitt could do was smile, as he looked dapper in his flawlessly tailored tux.
