Tom Hiddleston was NOT planning a proposal to Taylor Swift before they split, despite an inaccurate tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “trash.”

As Gossip Cop reported, it was revealed earlier this week that Swift split up with Hiddleston after three months of dating. Us Weekly was the first outlet to report the news, however, Gossip Cop has now learned the magazine got a big part of the story wrong. The magazine claims Hiddleston was “contemplating buying a ring” for the singer two months ago, and quotes a seemingly unreliable insider as saying, “He’s talked about it all: marriage and kids. I wouldn’t be surprised if he proposed.”

This aspect of the report, however, is entirely untrue. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the actor, who exclusively assures us he had no desire to get engaged so soon. We’re told the publication’s assertion about Hiddleston ring shopping and wanting to rush to the altar is simply “trash.”

Despite the tabloid being the first to report the couple’s split, it’s also the same outlet Gossip Cop busted for publishing an inaccurate cover story in July alleging Hiddleston and Swift were engaged. We were exclusively told then there was no truth to the engagement claim, and we’re still assured by the same impeccable insider that Hiddleston was never planning to propose.
