Showtime has finally made a decision its Andrew Dice Clay comedy. The network announced Thursday that Dice will return for a second season in 2017.

A semi-autobiographical series, in the vein of Curb Your Enthusiasm, stars Clay as an exaggerated version of himself and debuted on the pay cable network earlier in the year to mixed reviews. The second season will include seven half-hour episodes.

Its renewal makes it one of just a few comedies on the network. Episodes' upcoming season was recently confirmed as its last, and the rest of the network's slate is exclusively drama.

Dice was created by Scot Armstrong and featured a slew of guest stars in its first run — Natasha Leggero, Lorraine Bracco, Adrien Brody, Michael Rapaport, Wayne Newton, Criss Angel and Rita Rudner among them.

It is produced for Showtime by Fox 21 Television Studios, and shoots in Los Angeles and and Las Vegas. Production on the second season is expected to begin next year.
