Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are NOT writing a play together, despite a report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this story.
The claim can be found in the new edition of Us Weekly, as well as on its website, where a headline announces, “Miley Cyrus, Fiance Liam Hemsworth Writing a Play Together: ‘It’s a Dramatic Love Story.'” A so-called “source” claims to the outlet that the couple “have been writing a script for a play together.”
And since it’s said to be a “dramatic love story,” the magazine says they “know the material from experience,” referring to Cyrus and Hemsworth’s called-off engagement and reconciliation. A second “source” adds, “Miley is always writing, drawing and making music. Liam helps out. They’re so creative.”
But that’s all the information the tabloid has. There’s no details on when this project began, if it’s actually autobiographical, whether the couple intends to shop the script around or stage the play themselves. That’s probably because the vague allegation isn’t true.
A rep for Cyrus exclusively tells Gossip Cop that it’s “false” she and Hemsworth are writing a play together. And this is the second untrue story in the last week to claim the stars are collaborating. OK! wrongly said Cyrus and Hemsworth were in talks for a sequel to The Last Song. While it’s certainly conceivable they’ll work together again some day, neither of these projects are happening right now.
