Another dancing buddy! Maksim Chmerkovskiy opened up about fiancée Peta Murgatroyd's pregnancy during a Dancing With the Stars event in NYC on Wednesday, September 7.
"I'm ready! But I've been ready [to be a dad] since I was like 21," Chmerkovskiy, 36, told Us Weekly at Planet Hollywood. "But now I know that I'm ready, I'm like, 'Thank God it didn't happen before.'"

Murgatroyd, 30, is ready for parenthood, too. "I think she's going to be an amazing mom," Chmerkovskiy added. "We're going to look back on this process and say we had one of the easiest pregnancies."
Us confirmed in May that Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd were expecting their first child together. In July, the parents-to-be revealed on social media that they were having a baby boy.

Until their son's birth, Chmerkovskiy is trying to keep Murgatroyd as comfortable as possible during her pregnancy. "I try to just keep her happy," he told Us. "It's important that for me, everything makes sense from a biological standpoint. I have a bit of a chemist in me and I understand the body. We understand because of the lifestyle, the diet and nutrition and the exercise, so I understand the body, and I also understand how hormones jump around … To have the dream pregnancy, you have to keep the environment happy."

The Ukrainian hunk — who will be competing with Amber Rose in season 23 of DWTS — and Murgatroyd have been gushing over their son for months. On Wednesday, the Aussie dancer posted a video of her bare baby bump via Instagram.
"#BabyChmerkovskiy playing around in Mummy's tummy," she captioned the post. "I gave you the first kick :) how many more can you count?"
