Lauren Diaz surprised by singing Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You” during Tuesday’s “The Voice,” and then was surprised herself by a marriage proposal. Check out the video below!

The 24-year-old vocal coach confessed before taking the stage that she’s a “die-hard Alicia Keys fan,” and even sang “If I Ain’t Got You” for “America’s Most Talented Kids.” But since nothing came from it, Diaz now saw the NBC competition as her last chance. She further hoped the coaches would help her grow into the artist she hopes to be.

Admittedly, though, she was nervous to sing the track before the person she has so long “idolized.” But Diaz needn’t have worried. It didn’t take long for Keys to hit her button, exclaiming, “Sing, sing!” Miley Cyrus turned around, too, as did Blake Shelton. By the end, Keys was out of her seat, yelling, “Staaaaaar!”

“Holy crap,” an emotional Diaz expressed in response, before crying as Keys came on stage to hug her. So, was it a lost cause for the other coaches? Cyrus quipped, “I turned for fun,” while Shelton said, “I’m willing to make an ass out of myself to show you how much I want to be your coach.”

But nothing compared to Keys then singing “If I Ain’t Got You” herself, and changing the lyrics to reference the contestant. “I just know that you and me are meant to be together,” she told Diaz. Naturally, the aspiring star agreed and picked Keys to be her coach.

What could top that? Well, after Diaz went backstage, her boyfriend dropped to one knee and proposed marriage! Watch the videos below!
