Laura Bretan gave her final “America’s Got Talent” performance in hopes of winning the $1 million prize on Tuesday. Check out the video below!
As Gossip Cop has reported, Bretan has stunned the judges time and again with the powerful voice that comes out of her 14-year-old body. She impressed Mel B so much during the auditions, that the Spice Girl made Bretan her Golden Buzzer pick for the season. That sent the opera singer straight to the quarterfinals, at which point she won over America.
But Bretan ran into trouble during the semifinals last month. The teen failed to rack up enough votes to automatically advance to the final round, and then lost the Dunkin Save. But she was given redemption by Mel B, Simon Cowell, and Howie Mandel, who chose to send her through over family band Edgar.
Of course, that only increased the pressure for tonight’s last performance. But Bretan pulled off another chilling rendition of an opera classic, and with her dress lighting up, she actually looked like Cinderella. She was the fourth act of the night to take the stage, and the performance led to the fourth standing ovation in a row.
“This is ridiculous,” Simon Cowell exclaimed afterward. He went on to say that he doesn’t know much about classical music, but “what I do know is we are seeing somebody who is extraordinarily talented.”
Howie Mandel remarked, “You were brilliant. You were perfect. That was a million-dollar performance.” He then marveled, “We’ve seen four million-dollar performances.” Mel B said she felt Bretan’s “nerves little bit tonight, but every single note you hit with such accuracy… What a performance!”
And Heidi Klum adorably told Bretan, “Tonight, you look like a princess, but you ruled the stage like a queen. I’m going to be your fairy godmother right now and say bippity, boppity, boo — I hope everyone votes for you!” Watch below!
