Doing just fine. Hillary Clinton abruptly left a memorial service for 9/11 victims in New York City on Sunday, September 11, leading to speculation about a possibly serious health issue, but her doctor later released a statement saying that the Democratic presidential nominee is on the mend.
“Secretary Clinton has been experiencing a cough related to allergies,” Dr. Lisa R. Bardack said in a statement Sunday. “On Friday, during follow up evaluation of her prolonged cough, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She was put on antibiotics, and advised to rest and modify her schedule. While at this morning’s event, she became overheated and dehydrated. I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely.”

Clinton, 68, was standing in silence with other dignitaries in the humid NYC heat on Sunday morning when she suddenly left her position at the commemoration event and was seen stumbling as she was helped into a waiting vehicle.

“It was pretty hot out there, but she seemed fine to me, and left on her own accord,” Senator Chuck Schumer said in a statement to the New York Times, adding that he and the Democratic presidential nominee “chatted for quite a while about our remembrances of Sept. 11 and our families.”

Campaign spokesman Nick Merrill told the Times that Clinton “felt overheated, so she departed to go to her daughter’s apartment, and is feeling much better.”
Clinton spent about 90 minutes in daughter Chelsea Clinton’s Manhattan home before emerging with a smile on her face, waving to onlookers and even posing for a photo with a little girl.

“I’m feeling great,” she said. “It’s a beautiful day in New York.”
