Grace VanderWaal discussed her “America’s Got Talent” win and performed “I Don’t Know My Name” on Wednesday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Watch below!
As Gossip Cop reported, it was exactly a week ago that VanderWaal won “AGT” after being the frontrunner throughout season 11. DeGeneres was among the celebs to offer the 12-year-old congrats, tweeting to her, “You are so amazing, @GraceVanderWaal. America picked right. See you next week on my show. #AGT.”
Now during their chat, VanderWaal was asked about comparisons to Taylor Swift. “There’s been different interprets [sic] of what [judge Simon Cowell] meant, from I kinda look like her,” she told the host. “Also ’cause she cut her hair into a bob.” DeGeneres quipped, “Because of you, probably!”
VanderWaal went on to do a funny impression of Cowell as she explained the real meaning of his compliment, and made a huge grin when DeGeneres brought up her $1 million “AGT” prize. The comedienne amusingly asked, “Do you understand what that is?” The singer seemed to… maybe.
DeGeneres later surprised her with a hilarious place to stash the money. VanderWaal’s “Ellen” appearance came just hours after it was revealed she signed a record deal with Columbia Records. Check out the video below!
