ABC is committed to finding its fashion drama.

The network has handed out a hefty put-pilot commitment to Icon, an edgy fashion soap from Conde Nast Entertainment, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The drama is described as a splashy, edgy soap set in the upscale world of fashion about an up-and-coming designer whose rising star makes it more difficult to escape his inner demons.

Anne Marie O'Connor (Trollied, Waterloo Road) will pen the script and executive produce alongside Conde Nast Entertainment president Dawn Ostroff and vp scripted Jon Koa. The project brings Koa back to ABC where he previously was executive director of comedy at ABC. Sanaa Hamri (Empire) will also exec produce and direct the project, which is produced by Conde Nast Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Television.

Icon marks the latest fashion project in the works at ABC, which is also teaming with Felicity Huffman for fashion business drama House of Moore that was redeveloped from last season. The genre marks a big priority for the network, which three years ago developed Americana, a soap about a legendary fashion designer (Anthony LaPaglia) and his family business. That went to pilot but was ultimately passed over.
