The new cast of “Dancing with the Stars” celebrated season 23 on Wednesday’s “GMA.” Watch below!
As Gossip Cop reported, the cast for “DWTS” season 23 was announced on “Good Morning America” last week. But only two couples were there in person for the big news: Val Chmerkovskiy and partner Laurie Hernandez, and Cheryl Burke with partner Ryan Lochte. Now, however, the whole gang came to Times Square for a kick-off party in anticipation of next week’s big premiere.
The festivities began with the pros doing (what else?) a dance number right on the set of the ABC morning show, with the performance ending outside on the streets of Manhattan. An interview with Hernandez and fellow contestants Marilu Henner, Maureen McCormick and Terra Jole followed. Henner laughed off speculation that she’s already one of the frontrunners, and admitted her famous memory skills might actually be a “curse.”
Meanwhile, Jole received applause for saying she’s “honored to be the first little person” to compete on the ABC ballroom show, and Hernandez was surprised by Olympic gymnastics teammate Simone Biles. The rest of the celebrity contestants were then introduced by doing quick dance moves with their respective pros, and a special welcome-back was given to returning partners Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Derek Hough.
Governor Perry later courted votes, and the party wrapped up with a boys vs. girls dance-off. Just from that, you can bet this season is going to be competitive! Check out the videos below!
