It turns out that some of our honorees are, well, just like Us when it comes to prepping for a big night. “You gotta shoot a selfie before you go,” Milian, who stunned in an Unravel Project olive green strapless leather jumpsuit, dished. Maxwell’s list of night-out necessities includes a very simple staple: “Breath mints. Very important,” he joked.

As for fall 2016 fashion must-haves, many of our Stylish New Yorkers like Tamron Hall, who wore a sweeping black and brown Sophie Theallet gown, plan on swagging out in velvet. And Padma Lakshmi, who glowed in a black and metallic gold Monique Lhuillier maxi dress, is grabbing one of our go-to accessories, chokers, for the season. But one thing to put away in Stacey Bendet’s eyes? Flats, at least for the night. “‘Cause it’s a party!” the Alice + Olivia designer explained.
