The final part of Ryan Lochte’s interview with Matt Lauer about his supposed Rio robbery aired on Monday’s “Today” show. Watch below.

As Gossip Cop has reported, Lochte claimed he was robbed in Rio at gunpoint during the Olympics. It later emerged he had been ordered by armed security guards to pay for damages he allegedly caused at a gas station. In a statement last Friday, Lochte apologized for his role in the incident.

While he still has not point-blank admitted to lying, he again offered apologies in the new segment of his sit-down interview. “The people of Rio, or Brazil, the authorities, everyone there, they put on a great games,” Lochte said. “My immature, intoxicated behavior tarnished that a little.” The swimmer said he wanted Brazilians to know “how sorry I am and my deepest apologies.”

Lochte maintained he wasn’t “aggressive” during the incident, but that things became “heated.” Despite that, he insisted, “There was no reason for a gun to be pulled out for us for doing nothing.” Of his alleged vandalism, the athlete called the behavior “childish and immature,” but wouldn’t own up to all of the damages. “Like I said, I was very intoxicated. I don’t remember,” Lochte said about allegedly kicking the bathroom door.

Still, he acknowledged, “I’m embarrassed — for myself, my family, especially [my teammates], the USA swimming, the whole Olympic games, everyone watching.” The swimmer went on, “I was immature and I made a stupid mistake. I’m human. I made a mistake and I definitely learned from this.” Check out the videos below.
