Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are under attack. HollywoodLife, the bottom-feeding fabrication factory, is back to making up story after story about the former couple. They deserve better, as do their fans and the bad blog’s own readers.
It started on Wednesday, when the webloid completely misinterpreted comments Stewart made about her former relationship in an interview with T magazine. Stewart did NOT “diss” Pattinson by calling their romance “gross,” as the site wrongly claimed. Rather, she said the media attention surrounding them was “gross,” as it turned their relationship into a “product.”
HollywoodLife was no doubt one of the guilty outlets, particularly as it has proven Stewart’s point this week. After that first story came another false tale on Thursday, in which the blog claimed Pattinson was hurt over Stewart calling the relationship “gross.” Again, she did not do that.
But equally important is that the webloid seemingly fabricated a Pattinson source. And now on Friday, the site has a seemingly fictitious Stewart source for its latest tale. This one is all about why Stewart called the romance “gross.” Again, she did not do that.
At this point, Gossip Cop doesn’t believe HollywoodLife is just too stupid to understand Stewart’s remarks. Rather, it’s embracing its nickname, HollywoodLies, and spinning the comments in a sensational and scandalous way to drive traffic. But this is at the expense of Stewart and Pattinson, who don’t deserve to be the subject of untruths, and their fans, who do deserve to read accurate information.
That’s why Gossip Cop will continue to call out the webloid as long as it continues to run such false stories. No matter who the star, we hold outlets accountable for their offenses. And HollywoodLife is among the worst.
