Pretty Little Liars could be down one Liar for the series' final 10 episodes.
In the shocking last minutes of the season seven midseason finale, Spencer (Troian Bellisario) was shot by Jenna (Tammin Sursok), but not confirmed dead before Mary (Andrea Parker) swept in to save the day — and tell Spencer that she's her mother. "Please don't leave me, Spencer. I would never hurt you. I'm your mother," Mary says before Spencer's eyes flutter shut.
During the Liars' fight against Jenna and Noel (Brant Daugherty), he was beheaded by his own axe, and two other potential deaths were hinted at when Toby (Keegan Allen) and Yvonne (Kara Royster) were seen in a bloody car crash on the side of the road. Jenna's fate remained unclear after she was dragged out of the abandoned house by the masked figure presumed to be "A.D."
These deaths and near-deaths were only a few of the huge reveals in the finale, including Alison (Sasha Pieterse) finding out she was pregnant with her dead fiancé Archer's (Huw Collins) baby and hooking up with Emily (Shay Mitchell); Ezra (Ian Harding) reuniting with his presumed-dead ex-girlfriend Nicole (Rebecca Breeds) in South America; and Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) getting back together.
The last scene of the episode showed a doll figurine of Spencer being shut in a tiny coffin, perhaps hinting at her fate. But the truth will not be revealed until the show returns for its final 10 episodes next year.
Pretty Little Liars returns on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Freeform in April 2017.
