Michael Douglas’ son Cameron was released early from prison, but not because his father is “dying,” despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told the story, explaining Cameron’s early release, is made up.
According to the repeatedly disproven National Enquirer, Cameron was surprisingly let out out prison before his scheduled 2018 release date because of Michael’s “battle against deadly cancer.” The tabloid then adds that “grandfather Kirk Douglas was ready to risk his life by traveling to see [Cameron] one more time,” but with his release, “Cameron’s free for what could be a final reunion with both stars,” meaning Kirk and Michael.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Cameron was thrown behind bars in 2010 for possession of heroin and selling methamphetamine. While incarcerated, he got busted for trying to smuggle drugs into prison and had another two years tacked onto his sentence and was put in solitary confinement for a couple of years. Now, alleges the magazine, “Cameron’s early release could be connected to his father Michael’s health woes,” which it notes is allegedly “a recurrence of cancer.”
How does the publication know Michael’s cancer has supposedly returned? Did the Enquirer do biopsies? Did it do blood work? No, the supermarket tabloid relied on “new photos” that doctors, who have never ever treated the actor, looked at to determine his health status. One doctor that the magazine found in Florida only “examined the photos” the outlet gave him before concluding that Michael’s reddish skin was from “a reaction to cancer-treatment drugs.”
But the tabloid doesn’t know about Michael’s actual condition. And quoting a so-called “insider” as saying that a 71-year-old man with a thick mane may be “losing his hair” is not exactly practicing medicine either. Additionally, the publication alleges the Oscar winner “weighs no more than 135 pounds.”
The only thing that bears no weight is the reporting at the publication. As a reminder, in March the tabloid reported Michael Douglas was dying of cancer, and days later he was spotted healthily skiing with his family in Aspen. That false report, of course, came after a January story in the Enquirer that Gossip Cop busted, which wrongly claimed Michael Douglas had a cancer relapse and only 3 month to live.
Thankfully, as Gossip Cop reported a few months ago, the actor’s rep told us he was “clean” of cancer and the tabloid’s allegations were seemingly made up. Now, we’re told the magazine’s latest assertion that Cameron was released early from prison because his father Michael is “dying” is also 100 percent not true.
