Kristen Stewart and Alicia Cargile are not “engaged,” despite a report falsely claiming the couple is planning a wedding. Gossip Cop can bust the story.
In a headline on its website, OK! states, “Engaged? Kristen Stewart’s Plans To Wed Girlfriend Alicia Cargile Revealed!” The accompanying story claims that, “despite suffering some bumps in the road, the two are ready to wed!” It’s specifically alleged that “Kristen told her girlfriend that she wants to get married!”
While the outlet says “a wedding date has not been set yet,” a so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “They’ve been hashing out the details ever since. [They] want to have a small, outdoor ceremony, probably somewhere north of L.A like Santa Barbara or Big Sur, with a bohemian feel.” The alleged tipster adds the pair “want it to be romantic but nontraditional.”
Sound familiar? It should. OK! ran almost the exact same story in its magazine more than a week ago. The article featured the same quotes about Stewart and Cargile’s supposed wedding planning, despite, as Gossip Cop pointed out, the tabloid previously claiming on two prior occasions that they were already married. We debunked the new piece, with one of our reliable Stewart insiders laughing off the claims.
So now OK! isn’t just being inconsistent with its own prior reporting, but the publication is also hanging on to inaccurate claims that were already shot down days ago. That is so not okay.
