Universal Television is locking up a member of the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt team.

Writer and co-executive producer Sam Means has inked a two-year overall deal with the studio behind the Netflix comedy.

Under the pact, Means will create and develop new projects for the studio as well as remain on board Kimmy. More recently, he has also served as a consultant on NBC's midseason comedy Great News, which like Kimmy, is exec produced by Universal TV, Tina Fey's Little Stranger and Robert Carlock.

In addition to both shows, Means' credits include NBC's Parks and Recreation as well as scoring three Primetime Emmys for his work on Comedy Central's The Daily Show. He was also nominated for his work on Kimmy and the 72nd Golden Globe Awards.

"The shows on Sam’s résumé are among television’s best — 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Saturday Night Live and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I have no doubt he will continue to expand this already impressive list."
Means is repped by UTA. He joins Fey, Carlock and Parks creator Mike Schur, among others, with overalls at UTV.
