Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are NOT leaving “Saturday Night Live,” despite an inaccurate webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this untrue “SNL” claim. We’re told it’s not true.

According to RadarOnline, the two fan-favorite cast members, who co-starred together in this summer’s Ghostbusters reboot, are butting heads with NBC over contract negotiations. A so-called “source” tells the site, “They haven’t refused to return for another ‘SNL’ season, but because of the Ghostbusters opening, neither of them have closed their deals.”

The outlet’s seemingly made-up insider further purports that many “SNL” cast members are prone to “drop out of negotiations suddenly, especially if they have a surprise hit movie.” As a result, alleges the repeatedly disproven site, the show’s creator, Lorne Michaels, is supposedly “terrified this is what’s going to happen with Leslie and Kate.” However, Gossip Cop looked into the webloid’s claim, and an we’re exclusively told by an ‘SNL’ spokesperson that “both women are returning to the show next season.”

The webloid’s bogus story was possibly concocted in an effort to capitalize on the recent news that longtime cast members Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah won’t be returning for the sketch comedy show’s upcoming season. Regardless, Gossip Cop can confirm that Jones and McKinnon will be back on the show.
