Justin Bieber “never” gave an interview to the Daily Star in which he discussed working together with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, despite a story published by the outlet. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this. We’re told Bieber never spoke to the publication.
Under the headline, “I am finally working with Cheryl,” the tabloid writes, “It’s the collaboration that’s been on everyone’s lips for years, and now [Bieber] has spoken out on the upcoming hit.” Next, the publication’s website boasts, “Chatting in Miami, Justin Bieber exclusively confirmed to Daily Star Online that he has been wanting to work with Cheryl for a long time.” The outlet then offers quotes that Bieber allegedly gave it.
The Daily Star has the superstar singer saying, “With our commitments we have never managed to make it work,” adding in non-Bieber speak, “Though I saw [Fernandez-Versini] a couple of weeks back, and now she has left her role on The X Factor, I think this year will finally be the year we are able to record together.” “It’s something we both want to do,” continues the supposed quotation from Bieber.
The online version of the tabloid further alleges it asked Bieber about Fernandez-Versini’s romance with Liam Payne to which he supposedly responded, “She is beautiful inside and out, so she deserves all the happiness the world… Liam is a great guy, all the One Direction guys are.” “They just better make sure I am invited to the wedding,” the publication claims Bieber went on to say.
Of course, while none of these remarks are damaging or defamatory, they’re also not real or from Bieber’s mouth to the tabloid. His manager Scooter Braun exclusively tells Gossip Cop that Bieber “never” spoke to the Daily Star. Gossip Cop reached out to the editor of the paper’s online edition for a comment, but has yet to hear back.
