Jennifer Garner appeared on Thursday’s “Today” show, during which she talked about her relationship with Ben Affleck, keeping the paparazzi away from her children, and more. Watch the full interview below!
Garner’s previous problems with photographers targeting her kids led to her testifying in 2013 before the California State Assembly Committee on Public Safety to lobby for new laws protecting the children of celebrities. Now,on the morning talk show, Garner said of her 4-year-old son Samuel’s reaction to paparazzi, “He sees them and says, ‘Mom go out and tell them your son does not like it.’ It kills me.”
The actress, however, admitted the situation has gotten “so much better” since the “anti-paparazzi” bill was passed, and she’s grateful to “all the legislators who saw the wisdom in not allowing paparazzi to lie and wait outside of your school, doctors offices and your home.”
Last year, Garner went through a high-profile split with Affleck after 10 years of marriage, but she said the two are still successfully co-parenting their kids, adding, “We are definitely a modern family. We’re doing very well.” In fact, the entire clan recently vacationed together in Europe, leading to inaccurate tabloid rumors the couple had reconciled.
But Garner explained on the talk show, “Ben was working in London on Justice League and I felt like the kids should have that experience. He and I are great friends and we just all went en masse.” Watch Garner’s full “Today” show interview below!
