Frankie Shaw is bringing her short film SMILF to Showtime.

Showtime has ordered a pilot based on the comedic short starring, written, produced and directed by Shaw, the cable network announced Thursday at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour.

Set in Boston, SMILF will take a raw look at a single, 20-something whose desires for relationships, sex, and a career collide with the realities of young, single motherhood.

The pilot will be produced by ABC Signature — the cable-focused arm of ABC Studios — and is a co-production with Showtime.

Sideways' Michael London will exec produce the semi-autobiographical comedy alongside The Office duo of Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, whose credits also include ABC's Trophy Wife.

SMILF premiered at Sundance in 2015 and went on to win the festival's Jury Award that year. She also wrote and directed the 2016 short Too Legit, starring Zoe Kravitz, which premiered at Sundance in January. She recently wrapped a supporting role in feature Stronger. Her TV credits include Mr. Robot, Mulaney, Hello Ladies and ABC's Mixology. She's repped by UTA.

For Showtime, SMILF marks its latest pilot pickup. The premium cabler is also readying a comedic anthology from Jason Katims, has a Common/Lena Waithe drama as well as White Famous, from Jamie Foxx.
