Chicago Med is admitting a new face for season two.

Mekia Cox (Undercovers) is set to recur on the NBC hospital drama as the eldest daughter of Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt), The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Cox will play Robin Charles, an epidemiologist who follows her father into the medical profession. Robin is brought in to asses a difficult case and it further complicates her strained relationship with her father, who is the chief of the psychiatry department. This marks the first time a member of Dr. Charles' family has appeared on the show. The first season introduced several family members of other series regulars, including April's brother and Dr. Rhodes' estranged father and sister. Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) is the brother of Det. Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), a core character on Chicago PD.

Cox joins fellow new additions Ato Essandoh, who will play Dr. Rhodes' new mentor, and Jeff Hephner, who made his debut in the season one finale reprising the role of Jeff Clarke, which he previously played on Chicago Fire.

The actress, whose credits also include 90210 and the upcoming second season of the ABC anthology drama Secrets and Lies, is repped by Global Artists Agency and Charlton Blackburne Management.

Chicago Med returns Thursday, Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
