“Bachelor In Paradise” on Monday had two bachelors sent home while Caila had a big arrival. Get the full recap and spoilers below.
The show began with Evan interrupting Amanda and Josh’s makeout session with a “self-made date card” and romantic meal for him and Amanda to enjoy. After he confessed his feelings, Amanda said he should’ve told her sooner, because now she wanted to “focus” on Josh. Still, she ended up in tears over his “sweetness,” and that left him “hopeful.” Josh, nonetheless, was “confident” in their own connection.
Evan then saw fit to steal Amanda away from another makeout session before the rose ceremony, so he could tell her about the “real Josh,” the one described as emotionally abusive in Andi Dorfman’s book. That made her worry she was getting “caught up in Paradise,” particularly when Nick expressed concerns, too. It didn’t take long for Josh to learn what was said, leading him to confront Evan and insist Dorfman’s book was a “fictional story.”
Amanda still gave her rose to Josh, anyway, and Evan was miraculously saved from elimination at the rose ceremony. Carly, who had just dumped Evan in the previous episode, gave him a “platonic” rose, though he wasn’t so sure they were just friends. Lace gave her guy Grant a rose as well, and Izzy also handed boyfriend Vinny a rose.
Emily chose Jared, and her identical twin sister Haley passed on giving a rose to Brandon, with whom she had a date, in favor of Nick, because he “deserved to find love.” Meanwhile, though Sarah told Christian they had “the most amazing date,” she was also wooed by Daniel and ultimately chose to give her rose to him. In the end, Christian and Brandon, after essentially one day in Paradise, were sent back home.
The next day, Caila Quinn (from Ben Higgins’ season) arrived with a date card and asked out Jared after just meeting him for the first time. Understandably, that didn’t please Emily at all, but she gave her blessing. Jared and Caila then went horseback riding on the beach and sparks flew just as much as the sand.
Naturally, they hooked up, but after returning to the resort, Emily told Jared how much she likes him. He said he feels the same, but also that he now has feelings for Caila. In what he called “unbelievable timing,” he said he would “explore things” with Caila, leaving Emily in tears. “I don’t get why people don’t like me,” she cried.
There was also a first-ever double-date card, which was for Lace and Grant and Izzy and Vinny. For the outing, they had a private dinner before hitting up a club for a foam party. Lace became angered when a female partier poured water on Izzy, but was touched when Grant “protected” her.
Carly and Sarah were both match-less, so they decided to make their own double date with Evan and Daniel. Evan still had eyes for Carly, but when he tried to kiss her, she turned him down. He was later found unresponsive in bed by a producer, and came to as medics tended to him. Carly felt weird coming to his aid, but hooked up with him, anyway, and it wasn’t clear if Evan faked the whole thing.
At the end of the episode, Jared’s ex Ashley arrived, setting the stage for Tuesday’s show. Gossip Cop will have another recap tomorrow night!
