Amy Schumer was bleeped for saying “pussy willow” while appearing on Tuesday’s “GMA” to celebrate the release of her new book, The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo. Check out the video below.
The raunchy comedienne admitted early on in the live interview, “Don’t worry. Everyone’s very nervous about me on the show. They’re like, ‘Listen, Amy, it’s early.’ Nothing. Don’t worry. You’re in good hands.”
And the chat went along swimmingly… until the end of the six-minute segment. Robin Roberts asked Schumer what she’d name her own fragrance, to which she exclaimed, “I’m supposed to not get in trouble?! Well, it would have to be a flower. I guess pussy willow.”
Though that is indeed a type of flower, the censors still kicked in, prompting Roberts to hilariously yell that they were “so close” to making it through the interview without incident. Schumer told her, “You did this to yourself, Robin! It’s a flower!”
The talk was more serious when Schumer opened up about her book, which she revealed was inspired by the years she’s spent journaling. “It was really kind of crazy to go back and read them. So I took some of them, and I used excerpts of them in the book with footnotes of reflection,” the star shared. “It was a little painful, because it’s embarrassing to read your thoughts as a teenager. But it was a total labor of love.”
Schumer added, “I’ve been working on it for almost five years, and I’m really proud of it.” Watch below!
