Tyler Posey says he is NOT gay, despite a Snapchat video many interpreted as him coming out. The actor set the record straight on Twitter.
On Friday, Posey posted a Snapchat video showing him next to a street sign reading “Gay St.” In the footage, he says, “This is me. I am this and this is me. I’ve never felt more alive. I’m gay!” The clip led Posey’s name to become the top trending topic on Twitter as fans discussed his supposed coming out.
But Posey went on to post a second Snapchat video in which he made similar comments, but substituted “gay” for “lamp.” That then made some think the whole thing was a joke, and that the “Teen Wolf” star had not actually come out. Gossip Cop reached out to a rep for clarification, but did not hear back.
Now Posey himself is clarifying. He tweeted on Saturday morning, “I am a big proponent of love over hate, and standing together during divisive times. Although I’m not gay, I fully support the LGBTQ community. This was a moment intended to reflect that.”
Posey, who is believed to be single, was previously engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Seana Gorlick. The former couple ended their engagement in 2014.
