Taylor Swift was NOT “banned” from attending Comic-Con with Tom Hiddleston, despite a ridiculous new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s “false.”

Hiddleston hit up the annual convention in San Diego over the weekend to promote his upcoming movie, Kong: Skull Island, but according to The Sun, the actor was forbidden from bringing his girlfriend along. The misinformed outlet claims that the couple was “forced apart” by Warner Bros. executives who believed Swift’s presence at the event would overshadow the film.

The newspaper goes on to purport that Hiddleston was eager to have Swift by his side at the convention, but his bosses “banned” the singer for fear that the high-profile couple would create a “circus.” Despite the publication not having a single source to back up its phony claim, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to the actor, who exclusively assures us the paper’s story is “false.”

Swift never planned on attending Comic-Con, nor would she have any reason to be there. There were dozens of big stars at the popular event, and very few brought their significant others to a function aimed at promoting their projects. In fact, the convention typically revolves entirely around the film or television shows being hyped, and Swift’s name never came up once during the Kong: Skull Island panel. This is simply a non-story.
