Portia de Rossi does not demand “silence” from Ellen DeGeneres or their staff when she’s at home, despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the claim. We’re told it’s “completely untrue.”

According to the repeatedly discredited National Enquirer, de Rossi “demands and gets [silence] from intimidated servants, who walk on eggshells when she’s around.” The tabloid’s seemingly fictitious source says in unnaturally expository language, “Portia insists on absolute silence from her household staff. She gets mega-stressed, especially if she’s been working late on her show ‘Scandal,’ doing press or traveling.” “She wants it pin drop silent, and if a maid or cook absentmindedly homes while working, there’s hell to pay,” alleges the publication’s specious source.

And it’s not just the help, claims the magazine. The outlet’s questionable source further asserts, “Ellen shrugs, but knows, as does the staff, that when Portia’s present, it’s strictly STFU.”

Really? She makes everyone clam up in her house, including her wife of nearly eight years? Not shockingly, an impeccable de Rossi and DeGeneres source assures Gossip Cop the tabloid’s tale is “completely untrue.”

But maybe it’s time the publication remains silent about de Rossi and DeGeneres. Gossip Cop has corrected the supermarket tabloid over and over for its false reports about the two. Just a few months ago, we busted the Enquirer for an entirely untrue cover story that wrongly alleged DeGeneres and de Rossi were getting a divorce because the “Scandal” star had fallen in love with a man. We also corrected the outlet on numerous other occasions, including when it inaccurately claimed in another cover story that DeGeneres and de Rossi were arguing over having a baby.
