Nick Jonas was snubbed by the 2016 VMAs nominations on Tuesday. What’s more, though, is that he complained about it on Twitter at the same time brother Joe Jonas was celebrating his own nomination.

As Gossip Cop reported earlier, Joe’s group DNCE scored a single nomination in the category of Best New Artist. Nick, however, was completely shut out, despite clips for “Close” and “Bacon.” In response to the snub, he initially tweeted a sad-faced emoji.

He then wrote, “Disappointed with the fact Close got no love for the #VMAs2016.” Approximately 20 minutes later, though, older brother Joe gushed on Twitter, “Just found out about Best New Artist Nomination for @DNCE! Wow! Thank You @MTV!!!” He then urged fans to vote online “if you feel like being awesome.”

Just after Joe’s tweets, Nick reconsidered his disappointed. “Actually after thinking about it more there are so many amazing things happening in my life and career. 9 out of 10 boxes are checked…,” he tweeted. “Won’t let this one thing get to me. I’m feeling so inspired and grateful these days. Gonna focus more on caring less about the small stuff.”

The singer even added, “Everything is awesome.” As Gossip Cop has reported, Nick is currently on tour with Demi Lovato. She’s actually up for one VMA, too, thanks to her “Irresistible” collaboration with Fall Out Boy, which scored a nod for Best Rock Video. See a screengrab of Nick’s VMAs tweets below.
