Two of Matt Damon’s female fans were NOT kicked out of first class for bothering the actor during a flight, despite a completely made-up tabloid story. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. We’re told the incident “never happened.”
According to the National Enquirer, “a duo of giggly Japanese fan-girl tourists” were seated near Damon on a flight from Toronto to Los Angeles and began repeatedly chanting “Jason Bourne!” after spotting him. A so-called “spy” tells the tabloid, “Matt tried to be polite, but grinned weakly when the gaga geisha-ettes kept bugging him, endlessly repeating their annoying mantra.”
The magazine’s dubious source goes on to claim, in very unnatural language, that the “Bourne-obsessed babes quieted down momentarily” after first class passengers complained, “but ramped up again until their grumpy stews lost patience and escorted the chanting chicks to a celeb-free area knows as coach.”
Despite how utterly absurd the outlet’s story sounds, Gossip Cop still checked in with a reliable source close to Damon, who exclusively assures us that the magazine’s entire account of events simply “never happened.” Of course, we’re not surprised by the tabloid’s tall tale, as this wouldn’t be the first time that we’ve called out the Enquirer for concocting a fake story about the actor.
Gossip Cop previously busted the publication’s false claim that Damon and Ben Affleck were fighting over playing Paul Newman in a supposed film biopic about the late actor. And shortly before that piece of fiction, we shot down the magazine’s ridiculous allegation that Damon was worried he contracted HPV from kissing Michael Douglas in their film, Behind the Candelabra. There was no truth to these stories, and the same goes for the tabloid’s latest one.
