Emmy winner Laura Linney is making her TV return.

The Big C alum has been tapped to star opposite Jason Bateman in the Netflix drama Ozark, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

From MRC and star/exec producer Jason Bateman's Aggregate, Ozark is set in the world of drug-money laundering and takes its name from the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Grounded in dark reality, the money-centric present-day story revolves around financial planner Marty (Bateman) and Wendy Bird (Linney) and their family's sudden relocation from the suburbs of Chicago to a summer resort community in the Missouri Ozarks. Rather than the familiar skyscrapers and trading floors, Ozark explores capitalism, family dynamics and survival through the eyes of (anything but) ordinary Americans. The series will premiere worldwide on Netflix in 2017. Arrested Development grad Bateman will direct, exec produce and star.

“Laura is such a brilliant talent, and we have been such admirers of her work, that we are elated to have her working in this compelling world that Jason Bateman, Bill Dubuque and Chris Mundy are bringing to life,” Netflix vp originals Cindy Holland said.

The series was created by Dubuque (The Judge), who is onboard as writer and exec producer alongside Bateman. Dubuque exec produces alongside showrunner Chris Mundy (Hell on Wheels, Criminal Minds). Bateman will also direct on the series, following his two big-screen directorial efforts, Bad Words and The Family Fang, in addition to his TV experience behind the camera.

For Linney, the role marks her first TV series since she scored an Emmy win for Showtime's cancer dramedy The Big C. She will follow Ozark with The Little Foxes, set for the Manhattan Theatre Club. The actress is a three-time Oscar nominee who has also won two Golden Globes, four Emmys, a SAG prize and more. She is repped by ICM Partners, Lighthouse Management & Media and Morris Yorn.
