Fantasia performed her new song “I Made It” on Monday’s “Good Morning America.” Check out the video below!
“I Made It” is one of the tracks featured on Fantasia’s new album, The Definition Of. The record will be released on Friday. The album, the singer’s fifth, also includes “Ugly,” which Fantasia performed on the “American Idol” series finale in April.
Fantasia’s career, of course, started on the FOX competition. In 2004, she won the third season of the show, thanks to her soulful, R&B performances of songs like “Summertime.” The singer moved into acting in 2006, and notably went on to star in The Color Purple on Broadway. But music remained a priority, too, and Fantasia won her first Grammy in 2011.
The years since have been a mix of acting and music, and The Definition Of is her first album since 2013. Prior to taking the stage inside the “GMA” studio, Fantasia tweeted, “This song is for you Grandma. Tune in!!” The inspirational track includes lines like, “I thank you, ’cause I made it.”
Fantasia went on to post on Twitter afterward, “It felt so good to perform #IMadeIt on @GMA today! I’m feeling like #TheDefinitionOf … strength! 4 DAYS!!!” Watch the full performance in the video below!
