Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah and other celebrities are NOT worried Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have secretly recorded their private phone calls, despite a ridiculous tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s “false.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Kardashian released a Snapchat of West’s call with Taylor Swift in which the two discussed his controversial lyric about the pop star in the song “Famous.” The fact that the conversation was recorded was unbeknownst to Swift. Now, according to the National Enquirer, other big stars who’ve spoken to West on the phone fear they might also have been surreptitiously taped. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “Kim records everything. She documents like she’s the president. Her entire life is on tape, and she has recorded lots of phone conversations.”
The magazine’s questionable insider adds, “One of the first lessons of reality TV is that you always answer your phone on speaker, so that her camera crew and audio team can record what both people are saying.” But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who laughed off the outlet’s claim before exclusively assuring us it’s “false.” Not every call is recorded, and DeGeneres and Oprah are not the least bit worried.
Of course, Gossip Cop has corrected the Enquirer’s countless made-up stories about West and Kardashian, but we also previously busted another tall tale involving DeGeneres and Oprah. More than two years ago, Gossip Cop debunked the tabloid’s bogus claim that DeGeneres was starting her own magazine to compete with Oprah’s magazine. Obviously, no such publication was ever released. The Enquirer’s latest story about all involved is equally untrue.
