The BBC America adaptation stars Elijah Wood and is based on Douglas Adams' graphic novels from IDW Entertainment.
BBC America used its Comic-Con platform Saturday to world premiere the trailer for its upcoming take on Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.
Based on Douglas Adams beloved graphic novel and hailing from IDW Entertainment, the drama centers on the bizarre murder of a millionaire that thrusts loner Todd (Elijah Wood), into the orbit of Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett), an eccentric detective who believes they’re destined to solve the murder-mystery together. The duo will cross unlikely paths with a bevy of wild and dangerous characters, each episode landing them a few random steps closer to uncovering the truth.
Hannah Marks (The Amazing Spiderman) and Jade Eshete (Deadbeat) co-star in the drama, which is written and exec produced by Max Landis (Power Rangers, Chronicle) and showrunner Robert Cooper (Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe).
The eight-part co-production with AMC Studios, Ideate Media and IDW debuts Oct. 22 on BBC America.
