The ever-stylish first lady of the United States, 52, donned a custom Christian Siriano dress with cap sleeves and an A-line silhouette, dipped in the Democrats' signature shade — it almost perfectly matched the backdrop. She added an understated touch of shine with dangling earrings and metallic pointed-toe pumps.

Obama, who has been the first lady since her husband took office in 2009, supported presumed Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, with powerful words about her time in the White House.

"I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves, and I watch my two black daughters playing with their dogs on the White House lawn," the first lady said. She then saluted Clinton, 68: "Because of Hillary, my daughters now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States."

The first lady, who has been traveling around the world to promote her Let Girls Learn initiative, also took a shot at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again."

"Don’t let someone tell you this country isn't great — that we need to make it great again," Obama said without naming Trump directly. "Because, right now, this country is the greatest country on Earth."

Soon after, President Barack Obama took to Twitter to praise his wife's moving statement. "Incredible speech by an incredible woman," he tweeted. "Couldn't be more proud & our country has been blessed to have her as FLOTUS. I love you, Michelle."
