Chad Michael Murray has found his next role.

The One Tree Hill alum will star as rock music pioneer Sam Phillips in CMT’s upcoming scripted drama Million Dollar Quartet, set to premiere in November.

Phillips founded Sun Records, guiding young musicians like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Ike Turner, and advocated for racial equality by breaking barriers within the music industry during the tumultuous civil rights movement. In other casting news, Phillps’ wife Becky will be played by Jennifer Holland, while Margaret Anne Florence will portray his assistant-turned-girlfriend Marion.

Murray joins the previously announced cast, which includes Drake Milligan (who played Elvis in 2014 short Nobody) as The King, Kevin Fonteyne (Masters of Sex) as Johnny Cash and twins Christian Lees (Tale of Tales) and Jonah Lees as cousins Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Swaggart, respectively. The roles were filled after a nationwide casting call held at Elvis Presley's high school in Memphis.

Set in Memphis during the tumultuous early days of the civil rights movement, Million Dollar Quartet tells the story of the birth of rock ‘n’ roll. Produced by Thinkfactory Media and CMT, the eight-episode drama will chronicle the young artists’ meteoric rise to fame in the face of sweeping political change and social unrest.

The additional castings come just days after CMT's upfront presentation, where the network announced plans to double its programming, including music events and documentaries.
