The network has not yet confirmed if the upcoming fifth season of 'Person of Interest' will be its last.
CBS is doubling up on several of its returning series.
The network announced Wednesday that Person of Interest, Mike & Molly and The Odd Couple will all air two episodes a week when they return later this spring.
The sixth and final season of Mike & Molly will return Monday, April 25 at 8 p.m. and then air back-to-back new episodes every following Monday. Slightly more unusual is the plan for Matthew Perry's reboot of The Odd Couple, which will air two new episodes a week on two different nights. The sophomore multicam will return Monday, May 2 at 9:30 p.m. and also air Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.
The most surprising news, however, is the network's decision to air two new episodes a week of hourlong drama Person of Interest on two different nights. The fifth and abbreviated fifth season will premiere Tuesday, May 3 at 10 p.m. and also takeover the Monday at 10 p.m. timeslot beginning May 9. The network has not yet confirmed if this will be the final season of the Michael Emerson-led drama. However, exec producer J.J. Abrams indicated as much at the Television Critics Association winter press tour back in January, and the decision to essentially burn off the 13 new episodes can't be a good sign.
In addition to these returning series, CBS also announced finale dates for its current crop of series, including The Good Wife, which will sign off on May 8.
