CBS' Four Stars has cast one of its key generals.

The River alum Bruce Greenwood has boarded the military drama pilot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The project revolves around two powerful rival families in the military community of Tampa, Fla., who make decisions at the highest levels in the interest of national security.

Greenwood will play Gen. Buckley, a four-star general in charge of worldwide special operations for the U.S. military who is fiercely protective of his brood.

Wilmer Valderrama stars as Matt, the son of Gen. Rodriguez; Manhattan's Ashley Zukerman is set as Danny, the son of Gen. Buckley; and Ana Cruz Kayne is Syd, the daughter Gen. Rodriguez.

A Gifted Man's Becky Mode penned the script for Four Stars and will executive produce the CBS Television Studios drama alongside Timberman/Beverly's Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly. R.J. Cutler will also exec produce and direct the pilot.

For Gersh and Chuck Binder Management-repped Greenwood, the role marks his latest TV foray following a multiple-episode run as Gil Garcetti in FX anthology People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. His credits include Mad Men, Young Justice and ABC's The River. On the feature side, he has had roles in Star Trek Into Darkness and Super 8.
