Vanessa Hudgens is thanking fans for supporting her through “Grease Live” in the wake of her dad’s death.

As Gossip Cop reported, Hudgens announced just hours before the live broadcast that her father Greg had died of cancer the night before. She vowed to go on with the show, however. And by most accounts, she was responsible for many of the musical’s highlights.

Now one day later, Hudgens has taken to Twitter to reflect on the experience. “I can’t believe @gogrease is OVER! Grand opening and grand closing,” she tweeted on Monday night. “Thank you to everyone who watched & supported me last night.”

Hudgens went on, “Doing #greaselive was one of the most incredible experiences and I’m so glad you guys liked it as much as I did….” The actress signed her last tweet, “Till next time Rizz…,” and added the hashtag, “#pinkladyforlife.” The tweets were accompanied by the above photo of the “High School Musical” star in character as Rizzo.

At the end of the broadcast Sunday night, a title card revealed “Grease Live” was dedicated in honor of Hudgens’ father. And while this will likely go down as one of the most bittersweet memories in her life, Gossip Cop hopes Hudgens is proud, too. There’s no doubt her dad would be.
